Indian Street Food from Kerala

Driven to share unique flavors and experiences, Margaret Pak joins Politan Row with Thattu, an Indian street food concept from the southwestern state of Kerala. After marrying her husband, who is native to Kerala, India, the couple made regular trips to his home, where Pak learned the nuances of Kerala cuisine from her mother-in-law. A self-taught chef with a lifelong passion for food, Pak worked in the corporate sector for twelve years before delving into food professionally.

Since 2017, Margaret has cooked at Korean-Polish restaurant Kimski and hosted a series of Kerala-inspired kitchen takeovers on the side. Now, she brings her passion for sharing new flavors to Politan Row Chicago. At Thattu, explore a menu of aromatic, hearty Kerala curries fit for the birthplace of black pepper and cardamom alongside house-made appam, pakora, and savory masala cookies with over twenty different Indian spices.
